Sibling houses at Jindřichův Hradec, Czechia

Currently on drawing board.

There are two reasons for me to be excited about this project - firstly, the brief is to design generous, open contemporary homes for two siblings, designed so "neighbours turn their heads around when passing". What's not to love about such a brief? Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, this is the first real opportunity to work along with my dad. I have been looking forward towards an opportunity such as this for a long time.

The setting for the scene is on the outskirts of a regional town in Southern Bohemia, Czechia, with a prospect of wonderful sunsets over quiet countryside to the west. Given the closely knit family, we search for uniform design that can be successfully applied to both sites in form and in material. Two storey perpendicular form allows to utilize the most of the garden with main living open space connecting the south and north portions of garden into one.

Functional layouts have been considered to cater for the needs of a family living a life connected with nature, applying the indoor-outdoor connection principle into the central European context.
